Resilient
bearer agnostic
Description
Volt4AI is resilient and bearer agnostic — it does not depend on any single transport or network bearer, and can move data over whatever connectivity is available.
Importance
Not tying to one transport means the system keeps working as networks change or degrade, rather than failing with the link. Volt moves data over pluggable transports and relays (Volt: Wire, Relay).
Benefit
- Operates across diverse and degraded networks without re-engineering.
- Avoids single points of failure tied to one communications channel.
Defence Relevance
DTW must operate resiliently in NATO and national contested environments under degraded conditions. Volt’s NIST-compliant policy methods can swap communication bearers according to data requirements, and data-centric security means no loss of protection when bearers change. Maps to DTW Cycle 0 criteria 1 and 2 (resilience of the API gateway; resilient integration in low bandwidth/intermittent environments).
Civilian & Enterprise Relevance
IoT, utilities, transport and remote operations run over mixed cellular, satellite and intermittent links without re-engineering — and survive the loss of any single channel.
